Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory (1991)

If you still are not aware of my strong dislike for Gundam well just keep on reading.

It is day 11 since my city has been quarantined. So I have been binging anime and catching up on some forgotten manga.

Ita Kiss (2008) - Fucking loved

My Frist Girlfriend is a Gal (2017) - Fucking love, this was a rewatch for the 3rd time for me

DearS (2004)- I first watched this when I was 12 years old and it just happened to be recommended to me on Amazon Prime so I relived the pre-adulting days.

True Tears (2008)- Review coming soon.

The Saga of Tanya the Evil (2019) - Review coming soon.

If you have not already if you follow @Theprettyotaku Instagram page you will see I have also been very active and uploaded 150+ different anime series for your quarantine pleasures of vast varieties of genres.

The year is 0083 and the Federation is trying to establish a base in Australia with 2 new Gundams until one is stolen by Zeon. They are originally unaware that the Zeon's planning to drop the North American Space Colony in order to limit the Earth's food supply. This OVA of the original Gundam is establishing the transition between Mobile Suit Gundam (1979) and Zeta Gundam (1985), with the backstory on how both organizations fucked everything up and the Federation becomes the "bad guy."

There is a movie; Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: The Last Blitz of Zeon (1992), I have not seen this movie nor will I attempt to.

We have not yet entered the crazy bitch arc of Gundam yet. But Nina is close enough. It is not told until the last few episodes that Nina had a relationship with Gato when she was building the Gundam on the Moonbase and he was the test pilot. In return Gato, basically told her that she was only pussy to him, not an actual relationship. Then retracts his statement when he sends her to safety before he finishes the destabilization of the colony, "if only you were a Zeon." Which could imply that there could be more than just sex if she were born a Zeon rather than an Earthling (though both are humans)? I am still wondering why Kou takes her back in the end when she basically defends some other man for why he is about to blow shit up and a double trader and she threatens to kill him if he kills Gato.

I would say beyond the obvious ending of fuck ups, the entire series is literally about how bot organizations fucked up and played each other to still continue the original One-Year War. It can also be said that Kou could have potentially been a New Type because he was able to operate the Gundam without any knowledge of its mechanics. This to be noted as well, New-Types still have not been introduced in the Gundam-Universe yet and it has been 1 series that introduces the One-Year War and 4 OVAs.

My favorite part of the series was the ending song! Magic by Jacob Wheeler is a bop. That is a baby-making song right there! (click the cover photo to listen)

The purpose of the initial war still has not changed, the love-triangles did not get any better, and if the Federation is so overrrrr the Zeons they need to be like Patrick since they just want Independence and respect.

I still hate Gundam...
